Two Months and Counting
Saturday, November 1st, 2008I was driving with Rudi this afternoon and the sunset was really amazing. I was so upset because I never had my camera with me which is always the case when there is an amazing sunset or something worth taking a photo of. Rudi had his with him in the car so I convinced him to let me shoot a photo with it so that I could update my blog because I really want the updates on here to become a lot more consistant.
I promised that I would say that this picture was taken with a Canon Eos 30D with a Sigma 10-20mm lens. I was really interested to see how the Canon Raw images come out and how it is to work with them and I can honestly say that I like this a lot.
Anyway, that is my boring story for the day. A few of us are going to do some offroading tomorrow and I am hoping to shoot a bunch of photographs which I will post if I do.
Hope you are all well as always, Marcus
The New Lada
Friday, October 24th, 2008Uncle Rudi finally upgraded from the old Lada and his new car rips. I tried to shoot a photograph of it yesterday after I killed myself skating but the light changed so the photo is not nearly as cool as I wanted it to be but with the little gear I had there, this will have to do. I thought I would post it just because I haven’t blogged in a while and to wish Rudi good journeys with his new baby.
Have a good weekend all. M
Our Little Home
Friday, October 17th, 2008My new wife and I are moving to the UK at the end of this year and we had to find a place to live for the next two months. We made a super cool little home and are loving living there together. This is the sunset from yesterday.

Sunset Dance
Thursday, October 2nd, 2008Wow, I am getting really good at this. So many blogs in so little time. I should get a back tap here. Haha.
Shot these with Alan, Andrew and Jane from Cassette on the roof of SABC during sunset last night. Was super hard to get up there so props to Grant for making a plan.
Hope you are all having a good day, Marcus
Dean Back Salad

Thursday, August 21st, 2008Sunset in Muldersdrift
Monday, August 4th, 2008Sunset with Dean Marais
Monday, June 9th, 2008My chest has packed up as it always seems to do this time of the year so that means no skateboarding for me for a while. Its really not that fun and laying in bed really isn’t my best thing to do. Decided to use some of the time yesterday to shoot with Dean at Skateworld in Edenvale and I am so glad I did. We didn’t shoot too much because the sun sets super quick in winter and we only got there late. Anyway, these two photos are of Dean front blunting the yellow barrier I picked up a while back. His style is so so so good. Definitely going to shoot with him a lot more in the future and know this kid is going to make it big some day.![]()

Winter Sunset
Monday, June 9th, 2008There is just something about winter that I like. Ok, don’t get me wrong, winter in Johannesburg has it’s downers especially because it becomes so dry and brown and it looks kind of sad. I am talking about thing like how good it feels when you sleep and get all warm in the pile of blankets, drinking warm hot chocolate, cuddling with Anja and the sky. I love the way the sky is SO blue at this time of the year. Alet Pretorius actually blogged about this same thing a few weeks back and finally I shot a photo that I wanted to put up for this. Winter sunset …. amazing.
African Bush Adventures
Wednesday, May 21st, 2008Ok, I have to admit that I have been slack and that these photographs should have been up ages ago. It’s just been ridiculously busy here and I am trying to save for a wedding so please excuse me. Haha.
I am still busy but just missing this getaway so much so took a bit of time to do this post. Basically, Anja and I hit the Kruger Park last month for my birthday and it was one of the most super holidays I have ever had. I loved it. I loved the bush. I loved the animals. I loved where we stayed. I loved shooting photos. I loved relaxing. I loved being with my girl. I loved that she got to relax and I loved being werry werry quite. Haha.
These aren’t the best ones cause I don’t really have time so I randomly selected some from the 2500ish photos that I shot. Either way, seeing them just makes me want to be back there right now.
Hope you are all well.

The Light
Monday, April 21st, 2008I have already posted a photograph of this street light before and I think that photograph worked well, but when I was shooting there again on saturday, the sky was super cloudy but so boring and grey. I decided to try something different and I shot this photograph with the white balance WAY off so that it would result in the entire photograph being blue. I like it.

Sunset Again
Saturday, April 19th, 2008Happy Easter
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008Sunset over the Vale
Wednesday, February 13th, 2008Dream Sunset
Thursday, January 17th, 2008Wilderness Sunset
Sunday, January 13th, 2008The main reason we went down to the Garden Route was because I am working on a project for an amazing guesthouse that is in the progress of starting up in Wilderness called iKhaya. This day the sunset was incredible and I am only going to post this one photograph now until everything for this client is complete as I don’t want to give away too much just yet.
On a different note, I tested out my new Nikon D3 camera a bit on this trip and am quite amazed by the results. Still getting used to it but so far I am extremely happy but again poor for a while.

Thursday, July 19th, 2007Hard at Work
Friday, July 13th, 2007I am in Mauritius at the moment shooting photos to push my self a bit more. Internet here is really expensive so I am just uploading one photo right now. I shot this as we got to Le Cannonier Hotel and was so excited to see that this is where we’d be staying for the next few days. Amazing. That’s it really, plenty more to show later. Hope you well and all have a good weekend. M
Autumn
Thursday, June 28th, 2007Nanhau
Friday, June 15th, 2007I was sorting through some of my photo’s last night to try and find something as reference for some friends of mine and I came across a bunch of really nice ones from the Nanhau Temple that I shot earlier this year. It really is so beautiful there and I love shooting it. Anyway, these are just 2 that I like. Hope you well. M
Greenstone Session
Tuesday, May 29th, 2007I Win
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007Wow, this never happens where two blogs in a row are of photographs of myself. Anyway, the reason for this one is because the sunsets in South Africa get amazing during this time of the year and I was racing home to get a shot tonight but I was unfortunately just that little bit too late. I thought that seeing as I was there, I had to shoot a shot while I just stood and enjoyed the last bit of daylight. I hate being the subject of photographs but this is alright cause I silhouetted myself so you cannot see my face. Going to bed now to try warm up. Is it cold-ish?
My Chicken Sauce
Tuesday, March 6th, 2007Revolution Warehouse Sunset
Tuesday, November 21st, 2006Last night we did a quick shoot in the Revolution Warehouse for the start of our skateboard tour that we are doing in the next few days. Anyway, the sunset there is always so beautiful and joburg just always looks so clean. I love it. Well, I shot these two photographs of the skyline with the sun from inside the warehouse through some fencing. I liked it.
Goodnight Day
Tuesday, November 7th, 2006I have decided to try and use a blog instead of my current site to show off the work I do, hoping that it will force me to update a lot more. Anyway, this weekend the sunsets here in Johannesburg were amazing and I was lucky to have seen them, let a lone shoot them. Here are some of the ones that I shot. I hope you enjoy them.
