We decided to continue enjoying the snow on thursday night after a good previous night and headed out with our snowboards and some lights and set up our own little session near Croydon after midnight and even ended up building a small jump which Jason hit a few times in the complete dark (thanks to me forgetting to charge the lights fully).
It was one of my funnest nights in a while thanks to Jason and Jude and some frozen powdered water.

It snowed quite a bit this week and the first night that it started my friend, Jude, and I went on a late night “fool-around” that started at 1am and saw us skateboarding (without trucks and wheels) down snow covered stairs, throwing snowballs at passing cars, covering each other in snow, attempting to make a snowman, rallying and then shooting photos of the Dodge parked in the snow. I shot the first one in this set at 3:41am with no lights, no tripods and on Iso 800 so although I was pushing the camera it really wasn’t by much. It was SO crazy how light everything was thanks to the pink sky. Never seen anything like it before.
I love the snow.

My good friend, Byron, and his new wife, Jane, got married on saturday afternoon and we drove up to Weenen to celebrate with them on this special day. The wedding was a really good one and I shot a few photographs with them after the ceremony. Apart from dodging 10 000 000 mosquitoes and bugs, we were having a good time and just getting into it when we were attacked by a bunch of guys throwing rocks at us. It was seriously pitch black and we couldn’t see anything so it was super scary and we just scattered. Terrible for me and the boys but imagine how rubbish for the bride to run away in a wedding dress with high heels on. That’s Africa for you though. Have to be honest, I am excited to have a break from this place soon when we move to the UK for a while.
Anyway, this post is to congratulate my friends, the new Rodes, and then wish them all the best in the world. Below are just a few of the photographs that we did manage to get done.
Hope you all have a super week, Marcus

I was just in Kruger for a week with my misses and it was one of my best getaways ever. I really wanted to shoot photographs of wildlife as I haven’t done that properly before and loved it more than I could haveve imagined. I have a bunch of photographs from the trip (about 2200) and have a lot of catching up to do with work so will sort through them over the next few days and post some up here for you to see. We were really lucky and our hawk eyes served us well for spotting.
Anyway, it stormed on Thursday night and we were staying on the Crocodile River with my parents and I got to shoot 2 photographs before the lightning stopped. I really like this one.
Hope you are all well. M

Ok, this is the last post for today. I wanted to play a bit at the dam but Anja was super cold, sore and tired from boating all day so I dragged her out only for a bit. I wanted to try something but it didn’t quite work and I didn’t want her to get cold so this was the only shot I did. It is quite rad though and she looks super cool. Cute hey!

I went to the Coke Fest yesterday with Alan and Claire and it was super fun kicking it with them like it always is. I have named this blog as is because I was the third wheel yesterday but its all good. Always rad when a couple doesn’t make you feel like you are intruding even when you probably are. Good times.

Anja and I were walking through the parking lot trying to remember where we parked my car last night and I loved the way the car lights were showing people in silhouettes so I shot these two photographs.

We came home pretty late last night from a show and on the drive home Anja noticed the moon was SUPER low and really big. I raced home and got my camera and sat on the roof for a bit in the cold and took some shots of it. This ones probably my favourite.

It was my buddy, Darryl’s birthday the other night so a few of us went round and had a dessert bash. I took this photo of him saying good bye just as we were leaving. He was beat up about 3 weeks ago by a robber who broke into their house and the guy smashed Darryl’s face a few times with a brick. I am so happy that it has healed well and that he is alright.

Then this photo, I shot on the way home from their house. Alan drove me there and on the way back the lights of the freeway were looking pretty crazy so I shot one freehand shot quick and then was over it. It came out pretty good though. That’s all for now.

I have been looking through my stuff a lot lately trying to sort through it and make something of it all. Anyway, this isn’t really the best photograph but I just remember how stoked I was on it that I could actually see detail on the moon. I like it.
