Sunday Morning in Newtown

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

This passed Sunday Rudi and I went to Newtown to drink some coffee, eat some breakfast and just walk around and enjoy the streets of Joburg. It was super cool and such a rad day outside, felt good to leave the office.Sitting at a pavement coffee shop in newtown on a sunday photographed by Marcus MaschwitzWalking around the streets in Newtown on a Sunday photographed by Marcus MaschwitzA photographer taking a picture of a basketball hoop photographed by Marcus MaschwitzA sign on Bree Street in Newtown Johannesburg photographed by Marcus Maschwitz

Skating No More

Monday, April 21st, 2008

On saturday, Rudi and I tried to hit up a skate session. It has been super long and I am not sure if the location was terrible or if it was just me but it seemed for the first time in my life that I actually didn’t care much for it. Weird. I started skateboarding about 13 years ago and never once did I want to just pack up and leave. We did this and drove out to Nelson Mandela Bridge to try and shoot the sunset shots I have been wanting to do for ages. It rained so this never happened but we did get some good shots and it was just good fun being out there.Shooting session with Rudi Jeggle at Nelson Mandela Bridge in Newtown photographed by Marcus MaschwitzShooting session with Rudi Jeggle at Nelson Mandela Bridge in Newtown photographed by Marcus MaschwitzShooting session with Rudi Jeggle at Nelson Mandela Bridge in Newtown photographed by Marcus MaschwitzShooting session with Rudi Jeggle at Nelson Mandela Bridge in Newtown photographed by Marcus Maschwitz

Nelson Mandela Bridge

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

These shots are of Nelson Mandela Bridge. The sun was already higher than I had wanted to shoot these at so I am not really that happy with them. I definitely will be going back soon to try these again.

Trains in Newtown

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

The whole reason we went to Newtown was so that I could shoot photographs of the trains and the railway lines under the Nelson Mandela Bridge. These are some of those images.Trains and Railway lines in Newtown Johannesburg photographed by Marcus MaschwitzTrains and Railway lines in Newtown Johannesburg photographed by Marcus MaschwitzTrains and Railway lines in Newtown Johannesburg photographed by Marcus MaschwitzTrains and Railway lines in Newtown Johannesburg photographed by Marcus MaschwitzTrains and Railway lines in Newtown Johannesburg photographed by Marcus Maschwitz

A bunch of us went to shoot photographs in New Town this morning. I will post a bunch of photographs a little later after I take the misses for lunch but I just wanted to put this one up of my buddy Simon. He was our bouncer for the morning.Simon Westmore standing by a wall of graffiti in new town johannesburg photographed by marcus maschwitz
