I really like shooting special photographs of my close friends to keep as memories that reflect their personalities but this isn’t an easy thing to do because I don’t ever want them to feel uncomfortable or force the photo because I want to really capture them in the shots so that they are personal. I have said to Keli that I want to shoot a photo with her for ages but it has just never ever happened and I have never been happy with the ideas that I have had until today. It was Keli’s birthday and she dressed up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland which seemed fitting to how she is so I decided (assisted by Warren Zanin) to create a fantasy theme under some bushes in their back garden with some props and this is the result.
I have always been asked what my setups are and I have so little time that I never ever show them but decided that I would make the effort for this one because I have just been sent a photo of me shooting this shot and I think its funny. Basically I used 4 X Nikon SB-800′s for this shot with the main light going through a Rayhead Ring Flash and then only the fill light on camera right being shot through an umbrella to fill in the space under the bush.
I really like this shot and would love to hear what you think of it so feel free to let me know if you have the time even if its just questions regarding this shoot. Below is the final photo then a rough setup diagram and then a photo of me working on this shoot.

It was my friends birthday so we had a Mad Hatters fancy dress tea party today to celebrate and just all spend time together on bank holiday weekend. It was a super time and for once I decided to take my camera with and shoot some portraits of each of our friends and they came out quite cool with the background that we created. Just good fun.
Obviously I shot quite a few and they are all good so I wont put them all up but these are my 7 favourites so far. Let me know what you think.
I hope you are all well. Marcus

This weekend was a super rushed but special one with a really good get away. Two important people in my life got married in Corfu on saturday and it was really amazing and just perfect. The weather was hotter than I ever remember it being in my life and after realizing that it wasn’t a joke I made my best to try and ignore the millions of liters of sweat coming out of my body, cleared my eyes and shot some photos while witnessing a truly special day with a bunch of special friends.
To Nik and Keli, congratulations on your unity and ALL the best for this new chapter in your guys lives. Thank you for including us in it and being just like family to us. We love you guys lots.
I will post more photos of the wedding at a later stage but I want to first show the couple before I do this and just wanted to get one up quick while I log and back up the 22gigs of the day.

Wow, I have never posted this much in such a short time before ever. I just love the snow. I think I love it more than any child ever has before. I have spent the entire day making snow angels, building snow men, walking around, riding and crashing bicycles into the snow, having snow fights, burying myself and just having fun everyone in the Close that Nilx and Keli live in. It’s really beautiful here and I feel like we are in a dream land. I am sure that the idea of snow will ware off but for now I am going to keep taking it all in and enjoy it. Snow is forecast quite a lot for the rest of this week and it is still belting down so I am really excited. Yay.
These 2 photographs are of Nilx and Keli who are our special friends that have made it so easy for us to relocate to a new country. It’s been amazing spending so much time with them and enjoying their company. They have been so good to us and are so good to us and I hope that one day I can give something back to them to say thank you for everything. I love these pictures of them that I took while we were walking to go have lunch at the neighbours.

I went to Brighton on thursday with Nik and Keli Jones and it was my first time there. It really is such a cool little town with a ton of interesting stores. The water was flatter than at the dam I go to. Awesome.
