Interview in Quint Magazine

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

A few weeks ago the guys over at Quint Magazine contacted me about featuring my work in their next issue which would be known as their music issue. I flipped through a few copies of the magazine and really liked what they were doing so I agreed and today the magazine hit the shelves. Currently the magazine is only available in Dubai (stocked in all Virgin Megastores) but is also available to read for free online.

I answered a few questions about what it is like working as a music photographer here in London and you can read all about it from page 56 of issue 12. Read it for free here. The rest of the magazine is very cool too so give it a full read. I feel really grateful for this so “thanks guys”.

Interview about my work with Bluntmag

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

A few weeks ago, the editor from Bluntmag regarding my photograph and the work that I am doing in the music industry here in London. I always feel weird with stuff like this because I don’t ever want to come across arrogant or anything like that because I don’t think I am “cool” for doing what I do, I just love it so much.

Anyway, you can read the interview (please do) online for free at http://www.bluntmag.co.za/people/features/?article_id=2317. I think it came out pretty cool and it contains some information about how I started out. It was fun thinking back to those days.

Below is the front page of the article as well as some of the band photographs that feature in the article (including Bloc Party, Papa Roach, Rise Against, Swivelfoot, Zebra and Giraffe, Taking Back Sunday, Nofx, Juliette Lewis and The Gaslight Anthem). I hope you like it. Please let me know what you think.

The Eric

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

My friend Eric plays for the band Swivel Foot and he is a super cool guy. I have wanted to shoot with him for a while but it has always just been so busy and life carries on. We are leaving for the UK in a few days so I decided that we had to do this so we went to New Town this morning to shoot a few pics and then go for breakfast. Was a good time.

These are a few of the photos that I shot. Hope you are all well and getting into the holiday spirit. I love Christmas time.

Have a good week. Marcus

The New Wrights

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

My friends Eric and Adel got married yesterday (twice) and I shot some photographs with them. It was SUPER hard because the rain came down like never before and gave us really no time at all to play. The day was still super fun though. I haven’t sorted through the photographs yet but just wanted to put one up quick to wish them the best of luck for their journey together.

Yay for you two. xEric and Adel became Mr and Mrs Wright yesterday photographed by Marcus Maschwitz

The Kings

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Wow, these are old. I shot them last year at a Motocross launch party and then almost forgot about them. Anyway, these are the boys from the Suicide Kings. I really like the way they came out. Definitely a band you need to see live to understand. Check out their myspace page on www.myspace.com/thesuicidekingssa

Swivelfoot

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

My friend Eric is in two bands but the one, Swivelfoot, is busy working on a CD that they want to launch some time soon. It is going to be called “the last round” and because of this, we shot some photographs in the local “dodgy” bar. The music is quite similar to Rancid and will definitely go down well this Saint Patrick’s day. Check out their myspace page at www.myspace.com/swivelfoot
