The New Lundbergs

Friday, August 29th, 2008

This passed weekend I flew down to Cape Town to shoot a wedding at the 12 Apostles Hotel. The wedding was really awesome and although the weather seemed super rubbish the whole day, we were lucky to be given a bit of sun just after the service to shoot some photos together and just let the couple enjoy the fact that they were now married.

With my wedding just 2 weeks away, I want to congratulate Jackie and Jason Lundberg and wish them best on their new adventure together. I also want to say thanks for getting me so excited for my wedding.

It was an awesome day, thank you for trusting me with this shoot. These are just a five of the pics from the day so people stop asking me for them. I don’t want to give away too much before the couple sees them first.

Have a good weekend, Marcus

Cape Town at night

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

I forgot I shot this photograph when I was last in Cape Town and saw it now and really liked it. I remember how nervous I was parking on the bridge at night and shooting so I never stayed long. I really wish it was safer here to try this out more.Night shot on a freeway in Cape Town photographed by Marcus Maschwitz

Signal Hill

Monday, October 15th, 2007

For some reason the weather in Cape Town is always amazing when I am there. Friday was another day like that so we drove up to the top of Signal Hill just to enjoy the view and I shot these two photographs of a tree with some guinea fowl running free with the ocean in the background. I understand why tourists love it there.

Cloudy Sunset in Lakeside

Monday, October 15th, 2007

I shot these photographs during another shoot. I have this thing for sunsets and even more for clouds so I had to try and capture some of what was going on.

Kalk Bay Door

Monday, October 15th, 2007

I was down in Cape Town for business with my friend Alan on thursday and we did a bit of driving around and shooting in between call times. There was this old looking door that I noticed but it was really hard to shoot because of a million cars passing by. These are the two shots I managed to get while avoiding being knocked over.

Till next time CT

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I was in Cape Town again for the whole of last week and had an amazing time. My flight out was at 630am in the morning on sunday and I had to work until 430am the night before so basically packed my bags and got a lift straight to the airport. It was probably the most tired I have ever felt but the sunrise was amazing and made it all worth it. I hope you like this.

It Looks Like a Bay

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Ok, so I never really shoot “happy snaps” but this passed weekend when I was down in Cape Town, I couldn’t resist. I stayed with my friends, Waynand and Maz, and had the best time. They took me to do the tourist thing and we explored a lot of the Cape. It really was amazing, so beautiful and just the best fun. I miss it and my friends a lot already and it’s not even been a week. Anyway, so this is my set of tourist shots from our trip.

Cape Town

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

I went down to the West Coast for my birthday in 2005 and on my way to the airport, at something mad like 6am, I passed Blouberg Strand and saw this scene. It was awesome and really one of the nicest things I have ever seen. Only problem is that I never had my big lenses with me. I decided I had to shoot it wide so posed myself as the subject and used the camera’s timer to set it off. I love this shot. An amazing memory of a special place that I am growing to like more and more every time I go there. I hope this gives you the feeling that I get when I see it.

Cape Town All Blue

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

On my first day in Cape Town, the sunset was amazing. I really wanted to shoot some good shots but locked my tripods in my travel bag and couldn’t get them out so that idea was scrapped. Anyway, I made a plan and shot a few shots of the blue sky that I like quite a bit. These are two of them.
