The Westmore’s

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

My good friend Simon and his beautiful wife, Claudia, got married in August and I flew over to South Africa to document their wedding day for them. I don’t sell myself as a wedding photographer but it felt super special to spend so much time with two great people on what ended up being one of my favourite weddings purely because I felt a part of their day.

I have just finished sorting through their images and so I thought I would make this post to show just 3 of the photos from that day (which I converted to black and white) that I feel shows them as the perfect couple and also to wish them all the happiness in the world.

The New Walkers

Sunday, October 24th, 2010

My friend Clinton got married to his now beautiful wife about two weeks ago in South Africa on probably one of the hottest days I have ever worked in.

I flew out to document the special day with them and really had a good time. It was hot, the location was beautiful, the friends and family were in plenty and the food was incredible.

I have just arrived back from the trip out there and am carefully making sure that everything is backed up and safe and as always just going through them to get an image up to wish them the best as a new married couple. So this is what this post is for. Clinton and Shaan, thank you for including me in your perfect day. Here’s to the most happy years ahead together.

Congratulations.

Congratulations to Matt and Tiggy

Monday, October 4th, 2010

Matt and Tiggy got married on saturday and I photographed their special day for them. It was amazing and super event-filled and it was very cool to see how in love and how excited they are with each other.

I am just backing up the photos now before I fly out of the country so I don’t have time to work on these but wanted to just post something up to say congratulations and wish them the best of luck and happiness together so I have picked a random shot from the day.

Here’s to many amazing years and memories.

Website Launch

Friday, November 13th, 2009

So I have been working like crazy lately which is a good thing but I hate that I have so much new work to show and no where to show it. I mean, I really liked the way my old website looked but it really just was too much distraction as apposed to just showing off the photographs. It’s always hard to think of the best way to showcase online because I do not like Flash based websites purely because I have seen so many people having issues using them and in the end I think I wanted to make sure that mine would be as user friendly as possible. The website I had also never allowed me to put the photos up at a decent size so with all this in mind I have created a new one from scratch and although I am still filtering through photographs and updating the content, there is a good amount up so that I can release it.

If you have a chance, make sure to check out www.marcusmaschwitz.co.uk and have a look. As I said I am still busy uploading content so keep checking back.

This is a screen grab of the home page, hope you like.

The New Bishops

Monday, July 20th, 2009

This weekend was a super rushed but special one with a really good get away. Two important people in my life got married in Corfu on saturday and it was really amazing and just perfect. The weather was hotter than I ever remember it being in my life and after realizing that it wasn’t a joke I made my best to try and ignore the millions of liters of sweat coming out of my body, cleared my eyes and shot some photos while witnessing a truly special day with a bunch of special friends.

To Nik and Keli, congratulations on your unity and ALL the best for this new chapter in your guys lives. Thank you for including us in it and being just like family to us. We love you guys lots.

I will post more photos of the wedding at a later stage but I want to first show the couple before I do this and just wanted to get one up quick while I log and back up the 22gigs of the day.

More of Rudi and Sarah

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

I have had a lot of good response from the photographs that I shot of Rudi and Sarah so I thought I would put a few more up. It was really a special day and I feel proud to have been able to capture some of their special day. They are on honeymoon now so I hope that they are having the best time ever.

Hope all of you are having a good week.

Marcus

The New Jeggles

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

I photographed a wedding yesterday for Rudi and Sarah and it was super amazing. I really love the pictures that I shot and it was really easy to work with them. I have to run out today to do some errands but had to quickly back up the photos that I shot and thought I would quickly just post one to congratulate the two of them and wish them all the best in their new lives together.

I will be posting a few more of their day when I get a chance. Have a super weekend. Marcus

The New Rodes

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

My good friend, Byron, and his new wife, Jane, got married on saturday afternoon and we drove up to Weenen to celebrate with them on this special day. The wedding was a really good one and I shot a few photographs with them after the ceremony. Apart from dodging 10 000 000 mosquitoes and bugs, we were having a good time and just getting into it when we were attacked by a bunch of guys throwing rocks at us. It was seriously pitch black and we couldn’t see anything so it was super scary and we just scattered. Terrible for me and the boys but imagine how rubbish for the bride to run away in a wedding dress with high heels on. That’s Africa for you though. Have to be honest, I am excited to have a break from this place soon when we move to the UK for a while.

Anyway, this post is to congratulate my friends, the new Rodes, and then wish them all the best in the world. Below are just a few of the photographs that we did manage to get done.

Hope you all have a super week, Marcus

Honeymooning It

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I just got back from honeymoon with my beautiful misses (Anja) and we had a super time away. I know this may sound really crazy but I decided to REALLY take time off and have a proper break so I left all my camera gear at home. We ended up seeing so much cool stuff worth photographing so I ended up actually just regretting my decision. I took some happy snaps with Anja’s point and shoot but its hard not being able to change the settings and having to rely on the scene modes. Haha. Was a good time regardless and now I am DYING to shoot again.

The New Lundbergs

Friday, August 29th, 2008

This passed weekend I flew down to Cape Town to shoot a wedding at the 12 Apostles Hotel. The wedding was really awesome and although the weather seemed super rubbish the whole day, we were lucky to be given a bit of sun just after the service to shoot some photos together and just let the couple enjoy the fact that they were now married.

With my wedding just 2 weeks away, I want to congratulate Jackie and Jason Lundberg and wish them best on their new adventure together. I also want to say thanks for getting me so excited for my wedding.

It was an awesome day, thank you for trusting me with this shoot. These are just a five of the pics from the day so people stop asking me for them. I don’t want to give away too much before the couple sees them first.

Have a good weekend, Marcus

The New Campbell’s

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Colin and Justine tied the knot at the Westcliff Hotel this on saturday afternoon and it really was such a fun and special wedding to share. They hired a photographer so that we could party with them. I felt bad getting in the photographer’s way so I just shot a few photographs for them. I have a whole bunch actually but won’t post too many on here. Also want to say that I think that the colours of my photographs change slightly when I post on here. Weird.

Anyway, congratulations to two special people. Hope your honeymoon is amazing and looking forward to seeing you both soon.

PS> I shot a photo of Anja too that I really like so it is the last photo in this post. The New Wrights

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

My friends Eric and Adel got married yesterday (twice) and I shot some photographs with them. It was SUPER hard because the rain came down like never before and gave us really no time at all to play. The day was still super fun though. I haven’t sorted through the photographs yet but just wanted to put one up quick to wish them the best of luck for their journey together.

Yay for you two. xEric and Adel became Mr and Mrs Wright yesterday photographed by Marcus Maschwitz

The New Huntingfords

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

This passed weekend, my friends got married and apart from being lucky enough to attend their wedding, they asked me to shoot their photographs. It was really an amazing wedding and they both seemed so in love and happy together.

I shot about 600 photographs and haven’t had time to look through them all but chose these ones randomly to show how good they looked and be able to write a little bit to wish them the very best in their new marriage.

Al and Cherise, may this part of your life be called “Happyness”.
