So I have been working like crazy lately which is a good thing but I hate that I have so much new work to show and no where to show it. I mean, I really liked the way my old website looked but it really just was too much distraction as apposed to just showing off the photographs. It’s always hard to think of the best way to showcase online because I do not like Flash based websites purely because I have seen so many people having issues using them and in the end I think I wanted to make sure that mine would be as user friendly as possible. The website I had also never allowed me to put the photos up at a decent size so with all this in mind I have created a new one from scratch and although I am still filtering through photographs and updating the content, there is a good amount up so that I can release it.
If you have a chance, make sure to check out www.marcusmaschwitz.co.uk and have a look. As I said I am still busy uploading content so keep checking back.
This is a screen grab of the home page, hope you like.
Earlier this month I was booked to shoot Bloc Party’s live show in Brighton and seeing as they are one of her favourite bands we decided to make a day of it. We rented a smart car (which ended up being a ton of fun on its own) and then drove down for a day in a place that we really love a lot. Later that afternoon we made our way to the venue for one of the best shows that I have worked at this year. It was a good time.
Below is a photo of my girl with our smart car in Devils Dyke and then 3 of my most liked images from the show.
I hope you are all well. Marcus

My misses and I spent a few days in Belgium this week and it was our first time there but definitely not our last. It was super cool and we had a really good time. My worst part about traveling is that I battle to shoot photographs because I hate shooting a photo of a spot just because we are there as most of the time that is when the light is absolutely terrible and there is normally a million tourist around just getting in the way. Haha. I sound so stupid moaning but it really is hard for me because I want to capture the places we see but I don’t want to just shoot happy snaps. It’s really hard for me but I did shoot quite a few on some 120 film which I will process soon but I thought I would post these few which I do actually like.
These were taken in Brussels and Bruges.

A few weeks ago, the editor from Bluntmag regarding my photograph and the work that I am doing in the music industry here in London. I always feel weird with stuff like this because I don’t ever want to come across arrogant or anything like that because I don’t think I am “cool” for doing what I do, I just love it so much.
Anyway, you can read the interview (please do) online for free at http://www.bluntmag.co.za/people/features/?article_id=2317. I think it came out pretty cool and it contains some information about how I started out. It was fun thinking back to those days.
Below is the front page of the article as well as some of the band photographs that feature in the article (including Bloc Party, Papa Roach, Rise Against, Swivelfoot, Zebra and Giraffe, Taking Back Sunday, Nofx, Juliette Lewis and The Gaslight Anthem). I hope you like it. Please let me know what you think.
Chat soon, Marcus

Last week my friend Warren and I took a walk down the river around the South Bank area just to catch up one night. We both took our camera’s too shoot some happy snaps of the city but it was so full up with people that it made it really hard to shoot without either getting in the way or getting other people in the shots (which I really didn’t want) so I only ended up shooting a few.
It was an amazing night and I am feeling motivated to do this kind of thing more and wait for the right time to shoot so that I get the image I am looking for as apposed to just shooting because I want a photo. I really like the first one the most – no matter how cliche’d it is and how many times I imagine it to be shot already. It was quite hard because we also had limited night time considering that the first image I shot for the night was of big ben around 10pm and the sky was still light and the last tube out back home was about 2 hours later. It’s really amazing that the days are so long.
Today was the 7th month anniversary since my lady and I got married. I know it may seem silly to celebrate the monthly’s but we are so excited on each other and it keeps us happy and going. Anyway, today we came to the beach and just enjoyed another really special and fun day in the sun together. I also decided to shoot a few photographs of us playing the fool and it ended up being quite a laugh.
These are just a few of the photographs that we took together. I hope you all had a good weekend and that the short week flies by for you all. M
I spent sunset today walking over the Waterloo Bridge and taking it all in. I love the London skylines and this is definitely one of my favourite, with the view of the London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the River. I have always wanted to shoot some good photographs but my time has always been limited so I have promised myself that I will be pulling finger from now on. I shot this photo today and am quite happy with it, it isn’t what I had in mind but I will make sure to keep scouting for that perfect day.
I hope that you are all well and that 2009 is treating you well so far. M
Today I spent the day walking around Camden Town with my lady and as always, it was a fun time with her. The weather was good and there was a lot of people out. I shot this photo, just because it makes me so excited every time I see that from the road and I know we are walking in the right direction. Haha.
