Tattoo Day

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Jude got his sleeve finished off on saturday and I shot a few photo’s. I cant remember the details of the place so I will add that a bit later. Yogie was the tattoo artist and he is from Mexico. He really was such an interesting guy.

JHB Town

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Been wanting to shoot more and more of town so tried to get a shot tonight just after sunset. The air was quite mirky for some reason and there weren’t any clouds so I am not really that happy with it and will shoot again soon. Shot some randoms of people just crossing the road and cars driving passed and actually really like them. Either way, how beautiful is Joburg town actually. So much more at night.

Snow in JHB

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Sure everyone knows that snow fell in Johannesburg yesterday morning. I really never got much sleep the night before so when my mom woke me up to shoot photo’s, I was not the happiest man alive and didn’t really care much for this. Although this isn’t well shot or anything like that, this photo gets me really excited. Yay for happy times.

Wine is so Pouring

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Hahaha, I had to just put this up cause this was one of the funniest things I ever had to shoot. Everything was reflecting wrong and it was absolute madness. Eventually I had flashes under the table and ones with tinfoil in my hand and then eventually figured it all out. The final result is awesome but I cannot show it yet as it was for a client but these two are of the process in working.

Rudi Wetting Himself

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

Went riding with my dad and Rudi yesterday at the dunes and it was most definitely one of the most fun rides I have ever done. It rained this week and there was PLENTY water everywhere to play in so I rode into the middle of this mini lake and took some photographs of Rudi riding around me. What a fun thing ….

Why all the holes

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

This morning I was packing my stuff to go shoot for a client and Anja (my misses) was digging like she normally does and asked me why my press pass from saturday night is punched full of holes. I thought this looked rad so I shot a photo and just ignored her question until I was done.

Broke Foot

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

This really isn’t an amazing / creative photo but I just find it to be one of the most shocking I have ever shot. This was a while back of a guy who snapped his ankle skateboarding. Makes me so glad I have never done that.

The Capels

Monday, January 8th, 2007

I was just busy sorting out through some of my photographs trying to get everything nice and neat for the new year ahead. Anyway, this photograph is of my friends Jude and Trysie and their daughter, Lillia, on her baptism this last month. I really like it and love the people in it.

Twilight Childrens Home

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

Yesterday, myself and the crew from Revolution went and bought Christmas presents for the street children from the Twilight Childrens Home in Hillbrow and it made me realize again how lucky and fortunate I am. The home is really nice and the people there are really doing something amazing. Most of the children were not there as it is Christmas time but I did get to meet the ones that were still there. Below is a photo of Aaron and then two other pics during our tour of the home. Please look up the Twilight Childrens Home, they deserve the support.

Lillia Grace Capel

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

My friends Jude and Trysie had the Baptism of their little daughter, Lillia, this weekend and it is really the first time that I got to experience her properly and she really is just the cutest little girl ever. Her nature is amazing and it was so good to see my friends that happy and proud of their new addition to their family. These are just some photographs that I thought came out well. Welcome to our world Lillia.

Mosi’s Ride

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Dropped Moses at home from the airport and he was so excited to see the car that had been waiting for him. His dad was just as stoked and let him ride it around the parking lot where they live. Love this photo of Mosi with his new ride, his dog and the biggest smile ever. Goodtimes my boy.

Eating Pie

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

We did a shoot the other night in town as part of our tour and it was really cool going to spots in pitch darkness and then cranking the generator and lighting stuff up the way I wanted. Anyway, this was while I was still setting up and testing stuff. Braxton fell and thought this shot was just framed so good with him laying on the floor wandering if anyone had seen what he had just done. I did. Awesome.

Full moon (aa whoooooo)

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

I have been looking through my stuff a lot lately trying to sort through it and make something of it all. Anyway, this isn’t really the best photograph but I just remember how stoked I was on it that I could actually see detail on the moon. I like it.

Goodbye Storm

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

It has been raining on and off (mostly on) for the passed few days and then yesterday it kind of all went away and the sky just looked so blue. How rad are clouds actually?

Revolution Warehouse Sunset

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Last night we did a quick shoot in the Revolution Warehouse for the start of our skateboard tour that we are doing in the next few days. Anyway, the sunset there is always so beautiful and joburg just always looks so clean. I love it. Well, I shot these two photographs of the skyline with the sun from inside the warehouse through some fencing. I liked it.

1000 Drawings

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

For those of you who don’t know, tomorrow is the Night of 1000 Drawings exhibition. It is all for a charity and definitely the coolest way to raise money ever. Basically people submitted drawings, photos and just other random art peices on A5 and they will be sold for R100 and the money will be used to purchase a bakkie for the charity. You can read more about it all on their blog at http://1000drawings.blogspot.com but anyway, these are the ones I submitted. Whoo hoo.

Lightning Date

Monday, November 13th, 2006

On friday night, the maddest lightning storm took place. I was driving so decided to race home and give my first attempt at shooting photographs of it. The Joburg sky is so bright from all the city lights so I was limited with exposure times but these four are what I got from my roof before the rain belted down. Was an amazing site and a really good date.

Goodnight Day

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

I have decided to try and use a blog instead of my current site to show off the work I do, hoping that it will force me to update a lot more. Anyway, this weekend the sunsets here in Johannesburg were amazing and I was lucky to have seen them, let a lone shoot them. Here are some of the ones that I shot. I hope you enjoy them.
