DJ Fresh

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

DJ Fresh from 5FM is damn cool. I don’t mean this in a weird way but he just looks the part and fills it in every way. He played after Flash Republic at Sudada on Friday night and it’s just so entertaining watching him. I have wanted to shoot photos of him for some time now and I am really happy with these. I really hope I can shoot portrait lifestyle ones with him some day soon.

Flash Republic at Sudada

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

My friends from Flash Republic performed again on friday night and we went to go watch them. I cannot explain how much I love these guys. Hahaha. Not only is their music amazing but they are the most down to earth humble people I have come to know. Check them out if you haven’t.These are just a few of the photos I shot there.

The Newly Weds

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

My fiance’s friends got married yesterday and we went to celebrate the day with them. It was a special wedding and I shot a photo just for our own memories. Congratulations to Georgia and Brad, we wish you the best for your future together.

Oom Jeggle

I shot some photographs of Rudi skateboarding on Friday and Saturday during my sit-out session and really like these two. I shot them at Skate World in Edenvale and just tested out some different lighting techniques.

My Red Shoes

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

I was skating on Friday afternoon and had the hardest slam I have had in AGES. It really wasn’t cool at all but I know it won’t stop me still. Maybe I just forget what it feels like to fall. Hoping for sure that it is a LONG time before I do that again. Anyway, I took to the bench and watched for the last 30 minutes of our session and took some photos of my shoes on the grand stand. I had to take them off cause I was hurting so bad but thought these looked quite different. I do have to add that I shot these with Rudi’s Canon which is kind of a sin because I am a Nikon boy. Hahaha. They came out quite good though.

Moonlight Security

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

I was standing in my garden talking on the phone about 10 minutes ago and looked up and saw the moon through the electric fence we have on our 10 foot wall surrounding our house and now I cannot stop thinking about why in South Africa it seems like I am the only one who wishes we could do something to cut crime out and give people the right to safety. It’s so sad that our country is getting messed up by this. I hate it. I get sad that it makes me hate. That’s it really.

Sunday Gardening Session

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

I shot these photographs on sunday in my dad’s garden at the dam. He’s so proud of it and it really is starting to take shape. I posted some photos of it a year ago so I thought I would just post these two a year later. I messed around with my macro lens for a bit and couldn’t believe how strong the colours were in the direct sunlight.

Jude Capel

Monday, September 17th, 2007

I stayed with my friend Jude in London at the beginning of this month and we went skating one day near his house at this concrete mini ramp. It was quite a rad little place with people playing basketball and just hanging out. Anyway, I shot these two photos of him. Makes me remember the super time we had together.

These are the Little Ones

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

I took some photos of a friends band the other night in London and they were awesome. They are The Little Ones and the show was at 93 Feet East and the show really was so good. The lighting wasn’t ideal but I got a few that I am happy with. These are them and a few more. You have to check these guys out if you haven’t heard of them yet.

Let Me Out

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

I took this photo a while back but never really noticed it until now. I am busy cleaning up my machines so that everything is in order and I just stumbled on this. I love it. A lot. I remember shooting it and how much I felt when this monkey was staring at me. It was almost hypnotizing. I think I am going to go and visit him / her again soon.
